Application of elpress series products in heavy haul locomotive

Elpress has established a long-term cooperative relationship with high demand manufacturers of heavy-duty locomotives and similar equipment and their cable laying subcontractors. These contact information clearly points out that there are a large number of recognized requirements related to the work carried out in these applications. In addition to electrical characteristics and current carrying capacity requirements, these applications also include higher standards in terms of corrosion, vibration and static loads.

Elpress has worked with the customer to identify the following test standards recognized for heavy haul locomotive applications:

• electrical performance - iec61238-1 standard class A.

• environmental requirements - DIN V 40046 Part 37.

• static load - the Swedish standard Sen 245010 is useful because it provides relatively high load limits.

• vibration test - en 50155 standard has been used when applicable.
