What is needed in tram application?

Elpress has established a long-term cooperative relationship with high demand manufacturers of trains, tramcars and similar equipment and their cable laying subcontractors. In addition to electrical characteristics and current carrying capacity requirements, these applications also include higher standards in terms of corrosion, vibration and static loads.

Elpress has worked with the customer to identify the following test criteria that are considered relevant for train applications:

• electrical performance - iec61238-1 standard class A. • Environmental requirements - DIN V 40046 Part 37. • Static load - the Swedish standard Sen 245010 is very useful because it provides relatively high load limits. • Vibration test - en 50155 standard has been used when applicable. Crimp using elpress patented dual system

Crimping of flexible conductors of krf/ksf joints in high demand applications. Corresponding technologies have been developed to meet the needs of manufacturers in extremely harsh environments with high standards. In these applications, in addition to electrical performance, joints will also be affected by corrosion, vibration and mechanical strength.

Contact crimping is carried out in two steps: the first is hexagonal crimping to ensure the best symmetrical contact with the conductor, which indicates that there is no wire breakage or separation at the edge facing the connector. Then the convex die crimping can improve the electrical performance by 30%.
